Where is your line in the sand, and how did you choose it? Maybe my line would be further than yours if we had the math to back it up. Why would I not want that??? so long as I knew the company wouldn’t be WARNing me next year because I took too much candy.

(Also, I tried to quietly walk away when asked yesterday… for the record. I’ll be happy to do that again. No dog in this fight, yet, although you’ve been very welcoming so far)

I get it, you're doing opposition research for your supervisor at FH, but the answers to the bolded question above are found in Contract 2020. It has been briefed to your team ad nauseum.
If you have any further questions (again), I would humbly direct you to SWAPA Prez CM or his designated NC Chair, JR.

Thumbs up

…..backs away slowly….

I sincerely hope you all get a great contract and SWA thrives. I have learned (and been told) don’t ask questions. This has been educational for me. Take care all.

I think Teamroper's garbage is actually, maybe, giving me cause for a little optimism.

If a guy with "no dog in this fight," who claims to have a "busy day" is this triggered and willing to spend this much time writing his drivel here on APC, then perhaps it's an indication that management is a bit concerned that we might actually have the ability to achieve some of our more unpalatable (to them) demands.

He's even specifically asking what our "line in the sand" is, which is a pretty obvious tell that he's acting directly under management's orders or is a FordHarrison ghoul. Well, that, or he's just an unwell person who has nothing better to do.

I agree. At first the individuals sounded like it came from someone who teaches at out over the top 'Fly Day' nonsense; or a maybe an exceedingly uninformed potential neophyte.
The hunting for a 'line in the sand' leads me to believe its FH, mngmt, or maybe TD looking for some paid trip pulls and a meeting at hq.

Its just that 5/20 and FUPM are rallying cries that can easily be used against you, especially to divide you among the other work groups which are paid a fraction of what you are —- while they get to eat $&1t sandwiches everyday working with upset customers who have also had a hard few years on the airlines. I know, I was there.
If the other work groups want to be compensated like pilots and have the same contractual work rules as pilots, they should become pilots.

Why do I keep hearing the argument that other workgroups aren’t compensated the same?

SWAPA has the financial data. I took my first flying job in 1998 and was paid $250 a week. I like most other civilians had to claw my way to a “liveable wage” in aviation through the fecal storms of 9/11 and on. I did the food stamps, I did the displacements. I did the time, and earned my dues. Now, we’ve got guys that are minimally qualified getting more opportunities to be hired and make more money in one year than I made during the entire Lost Decade…at a regional! I’m tired of being gaslighted with the idea that pilots are overcompensated greedy whiners.

Our pilots work harder and are more productive than any other U.S. major. Our compensation and benefits should be paid accordingly.

My line in the sand is the Contract 2020 rewrite with rates adjusted to current inflationary and market rates. SSFM
