January Vacancy Results
Lots of newhires to BWI in this bid followed by MDW, LAX-E, OAK-E, LAS, and one to MCO!
We have a 108,000 CA upgrade in OAK, hired June of 2014.
Junior DAL FO on this bid is from June, 2022.
At least that’s how I read it, please add corrections.

Will be a bit crazy the next few months when nearly every base will have vacancies.

dumb question but is it accurate to say the upgrade time to Captain is 8+ years at SW

That's generally how it's read, but that's looking backwards. We're supposedly going on a hiring binge which would lower that time some. So it all depends on retirements and organic growth.

Currently....yes. With 1100ish upgrades "planned" for next year it will drop to the 6-7 yr range depending on how many bypass. Once you hit Oct '14 there was no hiring until July '15. So bridge that gap and the upgrade time drops by 9ish months. From the most jr captain who has already finished training...there are 82 behind him until you hit the 2015 hires. There are 306 on the current system list who were hired in 2015. So if I had to guess....you'll see 2015 hires going to upgrade in the April/May timeframe at the latest.

If I recall correctly, there’s only one upgrade class in DEC of only 20 for the January vacancy. There’s supposed to be 90 upgrades in January, 60 in Feb. March and April is when the spigot flies open with 120 upgrades respectively and then 150 in May. Early 2023 should be interesting.
