1000 Turbine rule abolished

I hated check hauling at night. Scared myself every week whether it be shoddy maintenance, weather, flying way over gross. You name it. The day after I quit the guy who took over my run bought it on the side of a mountain near Roanoke. Still, after doing that flying the Jetstream was a walk in the park. (Once I learned how to fly the wiggly pig)

All the D225 pilots are required to get turbine time at a fractional/feeder job. I saw that post too, and it was started when the assistant to the regional manager came over to the CQT class on a Sunday when nobody else could make it to do the company brief.
It's like when you fly with a check airman and they tell you that we are updating our training programs for the 787. Mmmmkay.

A small amount of CFIs in management or training department roles will go to SWA at either 1800 or 2250 hrs piston, which applies depends on specific criteria. The rest will build 91/135/121 turbine at various partner companies.

I was on Pelican 412 in TRI until that run went away. I think some commander operation stole it because the Fed found out we were running it in an A36 and the contract said it was supposed to be a twin. I was a a floater after that. Frank fired and rehired me 3 times that winter if memory serves. I remember spraying down the wings with Prestone antifreeze in a weed sprayer to get the frost off one morning. #LivinTheDream
Was a long time ago so memory is a little fuzzy.

I tried to find some pictures of the A36. No such luck. 1995 was long before cellphones were commonplace, much less phones with cameras. (I feel old)
Frank did furlough me for a bit when we lost the Fed run in TRI. When he recalled me I flew the Cessna 402 in EWN for a while. I did find a couple pictures from those days.

I was fortunate to fly night freight in good equipment (Caravan) and to only have to do it for four months, but of the two times I was genuinely scared in an airplane, once was then.

Anyone think this 1000 Turbine rule needs to go away? I've been seeing from other airlines IE United, AA, Frontier, Etc will all take pilots with 1500 hours 500 ME etc. I know a few good mil pilots still shy of 1000 (turbine) getting the tbnt ....fast mover F-16 guys they're still expecting 1000 jet time and Rotary guys who have over 1000 flight hours still being turned away ( and I still don't get how their time doesn't count for the life of me). Is this company behind the power curve on this? And I don't wanna hear the oh back in my day peeps who are sour. Just a good talking point to help with company attrition.
Scarcity equals value.

1000 RJ PIC would solve the upgrade issues the regionals have. People are not upgrading because Dfw 1000 TPIC is no longer required at most places.
