Can you elaborate more about what you mean regarding your pay at Southwest? I am very interested!

SWA calculates pay "differently". We use TFP or "Trips For Pay", and it's based on mileage not just block time.

The conversion is right around 1.16. Multiply our TFP pay rate by 1.16 and you'll be kinda sorta close to how our pay would work out if we were paid purely by block time.

There are other rigs and considerations, like at some point our day rigs out based on flight duty period not just block time (10.5 hrs if I recall correctly) so a day with 2 short legs but a huge airport sit in between could pay more than our mins of 5 or 6.5 if the day gets longer than 10.5 hrs. But the main difference is that our basic pay rate is based on a "TFP" calculation which is based on distance. That dates back to our original texas 3-step routes and we've never changed it. It averages out... Flying East in the winter we get paid a bit more than we might otherwise, and flying West we get paid a bit less except when the day gets so long we switch to an FDP based calculation. Mostly it doesn't matter so nobody cares except when trying to compare our payscale to another airline. In that case, multiply our payscale by 1.16 to see a ballpark estimate of what it would pay if we paid by block time instead of the TFP calculation.

If you believe in the conversion it’s actually 1.149.

I've been here 6+ years and this thread has more political opinions thrown out there than I've ever encountered on any of my trips.

I actually laughed when someone interested in SWA asked if there was a big MAGA crowd amongst the pilots here. I wouldn't know, I don't ask, I don't care, and we don't talk about that sort of thing at work. I know a lot of people assume things on this forum, but I couldn't tell you. There's a lot of discussion on more important things like where's the best place to grab a bite to eat around the hotel or what beers are on tap.
