Yeah ok. Sure, it's been a minute for me since I sat through a "briefing", but there is always some cultural issue that the civilian leadership is trying to ram down the military's throat. I know plenty of folks who are still on active duty, and they don't seem to care because they don't get upset over what Fox News and the Florida governor deem "woke".
Others do. Those are the same ones coming to work and talking at their FOs about it.

I was an active duty Marine until two months ago. I’m still a reservist. Whatever branch you think is going woke, you’re in for a rude awakening at literally any company, let alone an airline. I’m not saying don’t get out— one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. What I’m saying is just ignore the politics. Show up, make money, keep your blinders on and ignore everything else and everyone, concern yourself with yourself, go home.

Exactly. In the military you can say something dumb and recover. Here, you have a whole group of people who were bartenders, mall employees, and waitresses 6 months ago armed with easily hurt feelings and the ability to "clean kill" your 30 year career by writing you up to employee relations in Dallas.
Come to work. Do your job. Get paid.
Rinse and repeat. If you stray outside that mantra, you are opening up yourself and your family to a world of headache.
Houston and Dallas are both equally fairly junior for FOs. Dallas is grown out and is really only going to add pilots as headquarters seagull jobs appear. Houston is getting ready to add some gates and has a little wiggle room to grow as is. Had a FO jumpseating the other day who was awarded Dallas in her 4th month on the line.

He's the governor, he's there to sign laws that the people of FL decided were good for their state.
If the good people of Oklahoma (or whatever state your from) want to talk to kids about trans-ing the kindergartners in school, then so be it. That's why there are 50 states.

I love how the FL governor (in conjunction with the state legislature and state senate) pass a law saying that discussions about gender and sexual orientation in public schools to students below third grade are not appropriate and he somehow becomes the face of "anti-woke".

Pretty sure he used the Governor as an example because he said "Florida is where woke goes to die"

Not that it matters. If the guy wants a job here (or anywhere in the civilian world for that matter), he'll have to be a little less overtly provocative - at least until he gets past the interview gatekeepers and off probation. Then he's the union's problem.

Sat through some of the briefings? What does that even mean?
If you are getting out of the military because it's too woke, you're gonna have a bad time at the airlines.
I don't bring my political baggage to work. Some people do. I get it, I just think it's funny how angry they are. Like I said, he will fit right in at the Texas bases.

Never heard of NewsMax. Don't care about the briefings, what someone identifies as, or what they want to be called. By military woke culture, I meant bring told that my MDS is antiquated and is being phased out bc killing bad guys was bad for our image during the withdrawal (just a tad jaded from the Afghanistan retrograde). I just want to drive to work, fly planes bc they're cool, and be home with my family more.
I appreciate the info on seniority at the bases, cheers!

I can talk about Florida because I am from there. Yes, correct, born and raised there, my whole family (also born and raised) still lives there and have over 100 years of history there. This is unlike most of the current residents who have been there since breakfast and moved there to take advantage of the favorable tax structure that was put in place a long time ago by the party opposed to the current party in power.
I am sorry if I hurt your feelings talking about my fellow Floridian Ron D, who was also born there around the same time as me. He was just an example out of thin air because I have a strong connection to him. It could have been anyone.
I find it funny that so many Florida transplants get their feelings hurt when you tell them that their adopted state is the butt of a joke and will always be. Don't get mad, own it!
Signed,
A REAL Florida man.
