Contract Expectations

The full SWAPA proposal, 55% in pay and most demands mentioned on this thread, many of which may be in the proposal.
The company knows they can afford it and has to pay it to staff in the future. This place is every pilots’ back up and nothing more. I’m at the tail end of my career and likely won’t upgrade. It’s tempting to get on file at another major with six month upgrades and only a few month pay cut.
Also, I just came off LTD. For an FO the benefit is very good, for a captain probably not. It does need a lot of streamlining and should be a one-stop shop, not the mixed bag that forces you to sort through various agencies to learn the process as you go.

I’m sorry but can you please elaborate? Are you saying the SWAPA proposal was/is a 55% increase in pay rates? That works out to $380/tfp which is the number I’ve heard rumored to have been proposed.

…and the Elegante in MAF. I’m honestly baffled by how this hotel has not been shot down by either pilot or FA union. I’ve never had to stay in such a dump in my 22 year civilian career.

Don't mistake me though. I'm all for having some real and firm standards. It's one of MANY reasons I'll never vote yes. But really. It's Midland. They could put me up in the stripper motel with 23 fistfuls of 2 dollar bills. It would still suck.

The Elegante isn't bad. For Midland. Where the hell else are we going to stay in this g forsaken town? They're very nice to us. The rooms are fine. The problem is... Well - the city. It sucks. I'd stay here over the Arden West ANY day.

I sure hope the hotels section they just closed out deals with these kind of rat traps and separates us from using the same hotels as the FAs.

Any of the 11 Hilton branded hotels between Midland and Odessa. There are plenty of other options. The rooms are fine? If you look close enough, they are pretty disgusting. Stains everywhere, HORRIBLE worn out mattresses, 80-90s furniture and decor that is falling apart.

I deleted my prior snarky response. I have stayed in various hotels in Midland for over 25 years. Maybe I've not seen all the beautiful locations here. Either way. Here's to demanding rock solid hotel language.🍻
