Yes.
So, we need do only one extremely simple thing:
obtain a strong strike authorization vote, like Delta, ASAP. Which means having the conversation with everyone you fly with about it, helping them to understand the importance of this.
For some unexplained reason, SWAPA isn’t doing this with any urgency.
Also, Lew: cannot stress enough how valuable your information is. Keep it coming, and keep up the good fight on the forum. Try to ignore the fools who are either being dishonest, or can’t recognize their own self-interest.

Perhaps the union and company are closer than we realize to a deal? I say that with no preconceived notion that its true, but if they are getting close throwing out a strike authorization vote might sour the water.

It’s premature to have a SAV. You want to play that card later on in the game or it will lose its desired effect.

I realize you're new. Welcome to Southwest. I see you're yet to learn that this company doesn't care about you nor do they LUV you an ounce beyond of what's spelled out in our CBA. Learn it, accept it, support your union, wear your SWAPA lanyard, and accept nothing short of industry-leading contract in every aspect.

I am under no false pretense of what the company wants, this is my third airline gig with union representation. I was just stating that maybe they are closer, maybe they are not. I am new here so not trying too stray off course right now, but I wear the lanyard, love the union so far and expect a an industry leading contract, so we are on the same page with all of that.
Same here. Fourth airline. Third union represented airline. Best union so far, just not if they’re working against you (different story).
So being experienced union pilots, let’s just cut the $h!t. FUPM. Same story, different airline.
5th. 20th. Be sure to vote. Vote NO often. Really, REALLY fking simple.

One thing different for me from my previous ALPA shop was the ability to vote while on probation. The membership is only as strong as it’s members. Get educated, learn the airplane, the company, and the contract. We all want the company to succeed and also to share in the rewards.
