Yawn. I'm no lib and I'll call this article out for being hyperbolic BS meant to elicit an emotional response.
Fun fact: The Epoch Times is the propaganda wing of the Falun Gong cult. Not exactly credible in anything except their criticism of the communist Chinese government and Shen Yun dates.

Are you in your first day at the airlines? Hardly a day goes by that I don't hear multiple off color comments. From calling the FAs the girls when it's three men, calling male flight attendants "Richards", a captain directly telling a new hire flight attendant that it's been too long since he's seen a new hire flight attendant topless, telling a male flight attendant who's talking to a friend that his gay marriage is an abomination in the eyes of the Lord, hearing the name of the driver of a car accident at MCO and saying "well that's not surprising then with that demographic", commenting on the woman in the sensitivity training video and saying "i can tell you what I would do to her", a captain referring to his daughter as "it" for an entire pairing, or even the guy above who called one of these groups "nut jobs" and compared them to neutered dogs. Etc.
These are just examples in the last month that I've personally witnessed. Are people dropping racial slurs every flight? No, though I've flown with plenty of people who do. But to say that you rarely hear racist or sexist remarks is laughable. There was even a recent Facebook post on the 2020 page that had to be taken down because of the racist bile people were spouting about the PAPA conference that swa was sponsoring.
I'm not saying we all have to walk on eggshells at work or that an overheard joke needs to be turned into immediate terminations, and I do think the wokeness is getting out of control, but if you don't think that some work really DOES need to be done, you may want to look in the mirror a little.

Are you saying that the employees in this article don’t have legitimate, right to speak up about it, complaints? You think conservatives are supposed to just shut up? And not push back against blatant WRONGDOING? Notice how you just downplay everything they mentioned, and are saying basically, that those employees mentioned and the negative experiences they had, are the fault of the people you are talking about. When it is the fault of “WOKENESS,” and woke “culture.” Too many people are afraid to stand up to woke culture. What you’re basically saying is, “well, I know the Pro life flight attendant got fired for her religious views, but, that doesn’t really mean anything.” That’s not right. There is a reason she won that lawsuit. Why do libs who identify as something they are NOT, get away with stuff but conservatives who make off handed remarks get a talking to at the least, and at the very worst, fired. The pendulum is swinging the other way here these days, and it’s going in the direction of “wokeness.” You are talking about the other end of the extreme, I am telling you that it is actually MOVING to the extreme in the OPPOSITE direction. And that can’t be good for the morale and wellbeing of airline staff, and customers. Sure, I’ll give it to you that back in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, there was rampant sexism among white male pilots towards women. But that is not the case anymore dude. I have only seen what your talking about with ONE person. And many males including myself couldn’t STAND this guy.

Then 2020 happened and journalism became "journalisming." I'm still trying to find credibility somewhere.

Did you know it's considered sexist to offer your hand to help a FA off the crew van? Forget chivalry or being a gentleman... that is a sexist act. Go figure. And if you paid attention to your harassment training modules, the fact that your intent was to help the FA not taking a face plant is irrelevant. The only relevant thing is how your action was perceived.
Well, I used to do this because it was how I was raised.. just like holding open door.
I guess men have to be perceived as a-holes or be fired for sexual harassment.
Rock, meet hard place.
Soon there will be consent forms for saying hello.

I am pretty sure if a female pilot offered a hand to a female FA it could not be sexist. Pretty sure the same goes for a male pilot and a male FA. Maybe it could be considered sexist to assume pilots are male and FAs are female.....
But yeah, anytime I am on a date (with a women, as a man) I will hold the door. different when I am at work.
