How so? What does their race have to do with anything? Could it be that perhaps some may not grasp the material? Or perhaps they realize that this is not what they want? Of course, no white dude has ever quit or washed out of aviation for not grasping material or not "getting it" or losing interest..... Gotta be the race, right?

Ever stop and wonder what people want in life? Take a kid today... how many of them want to be pilots vs. say... social media influencers? How many would want to be YouTube personalities as opposed to A&P's? What about singers or sport stars vs. aviation professionals? How about women.... how many would prefer to have family (husband, kids) vs. being a pilot and being gone half the month or longer? How many women pilots voluntarily stop flying to be a mom and a wife? Know any of those? I sure do. But see, the "progressives" don't seem to support those women because in their warped minds, those women are victims. Naturally, of course a woman cannot be happy being a mom and a wife, right?
Know many successful minorities? I sure do. But many "progressives" don't really care for those people either because none of those people consider themselves oppressed or anyone's victims, and they don't support their ideology. Generally speaking, the "progressives", and especially white "progressives" consider minorities to be victims who cannot survive without their handout. It has nothing to do with reality, but everything with the need of the white liberal to feel good about themselves i.e. virtue signaling, and their quest for political power by tricking and brainwashing the minorities into believing they are victims just to garner their votes. Notice how they don't celebrate the minorities who succeed on their own accord and don't espouse their ideology. In fact, they mock them. You have a great example of it in this thread... And what's awful is that it translates into many minorities' mindsets - being a victim of the society is cool and celebrated, but being a success story - you're some kind of a "sellout" or a "token." Listen it doesn’t matter how you rationalize it. The company is driving the ship and you are passenger on the SS woke like it or not. Worry about the things you can control as for the ones you can’t well there is nothing you can actually do about it. You aren’t going to change peoples mind who are left or right in todays environment. So just worry about your world until they come to place you in the cattle car train. Until that happens you don’t need to worry about it. The USA will keep changing socially, demographically, and religiously…..just like it always has.

As a black person, when you have not many who look like you in the field and then when your own community sometimes might categorize you as “acting white” “token” or whatever whenever you’re doing something successful and on your own, it adds another layer of adversity. So the people you call tokens are actually fighting two battles to some degree.
