I want to know what makes you think that you’re viewpoint is the mainstream and not just in-line with the social scolds that have been able to shout-down opposing viewpoints for far too long? It seems, based off recent polling and political trends, that people are getting tired of it.

Look, if Bill Maher is sounding off on where woke culture is going (and not in a good way), this is obviously an issue.
Getting minorities interested in aviation or STEM fields…let’s do it. Be proactive, fund it, get it done. Flight schools, ground schools, college credit, etc.
But let’s face it—some people are better at driving motorcycles than others. At the end of the day, it has to be skills/ability that land the jobs.
What the real issue at hand is, is the idea that minimum skill levels will be reduced in order to accommodate a percentage hiring requirement to satisfy an equity goal.
Colgan wasn’t caused by hiring women. It was caused by reduced skill levels, multiple check failures, fatigue, improper execution of procedures, and inexperience.
Yes, when shortages exist in hiring, standard measures of relative experience may come down. Same with the military.
But we can’t reduce the level of safety in order to meet DEI.
That’s the crux of my stance. And if you can’t hang with the ease of AQP training and standards (waaay easier than it was in 1999), you are working in the wrong section of the airplane.
Be a pro.
