In the particular major airline in the Middle East flight deck crew wait until Flight Attendends collect ALL 400+ passenger blankets and headsets and only then move together to the company transport to return to our Operations Center or the hotel...
So, clearly, the matter of perspective...

Southwest is the airline in the only airline in the free world that makes pilots wait until all pax are off. You see at Southwest when you are done flying for the day you have to wait 20 min sometimes more for the next crew because we have one van to the hotel for the whole crew but we have throughs onboard so the FAs have to wait and thus so do the pilots.
At United the pilots can leave right away. United FA's are allowed to use the aft Emergency Exit light switch if they need it, and check the girt bars.
There is a reason Boeing and Airbus have Emergency exit light switches in the aft galley. It is so the pilots can leave without babysitting the airplane. The United's FOM specifically says to turn off the emergency exit light switch as you exit the aircraft, even with pax.

In no particular order of importance, every time you accept stuff like:
- no good crew meals
- no positive space business class travel for you and your entire dependent list twice a year anywhere you want to go in the world.
- starting with 6 weeks of vacation as a new hire vs. waiting decades for it.
- not getting chauffeured to/from work.
- not getting education allowance for your kids attending private schools or colleges worldwide. If you don't have kids, or you have your kids in public school (elementary or high) stateside - sorry, only private education.
one could say you're undercutting "industry standard." Or are you? As a brand new FO there, you'll get about 8k USD per month - kinda like here, right? But guess what? That 8k is literally your play money since every other aspect of your life is covered by the airline. So tell me again about "industry standard" please.
Now... not saying it's all roses. Some of their work rules leave a lot to be desired, but since we're cherry-picking "industry standard", let's cherry pick. Or how about showing a little humility, show a little less a$$, and maybe just being polite?
