Any Bose ProFlight users out there? I start training next week and have both A20 and ProFlight headsets. I love both, but the ProFlight definitely is favored for its lighter weight on longer days.

My hot takes:

The new M and H shirts are fine. Comfortable and durable. Go through about 3 shirts a year due to commuting and heavier than average flying schedule.

Haggar pants. They go on sale at Costco once a year for $20. Buy 5 pair and get one or two more every year. Cool and comfortable. The M and H pants are absolutely terrible.

I have a LW bag and I don't know if I will buy another one. That being said, 8 years of HEAVY use with minimal maintenance. A one busted zipper, a bent frame from a RJ commute, and some zipper pulls missing. Probably look at strongbags for my next purchase.

You NEED a noise reducing headset, and not the one they issue you. I use a U Fly Mike with a QC-35 and it is, in my humble opinion, the best product out there. I have used the clampy Bose aviation headsets and I don't like them after about an hour. My head is also huge. I have flown with multiple check airmen, including the head of standards, and nobody has said a thing about my headset not being TSOd.

As for the Hagar pants, they were mail ordered—NOT the Costco version. There is a difference, and the Costco Hagar pants fade btw.

As for luggage, our bags aren’t being thrown from the cargo compartment of a Saab 340 onto the ramp anymore. While I have fond memories of my 26” PurtyNeatStuff mobile safe, we just need a sturdy bag that fits in the flight deck and an overhead. Lots of great options out there, including StrongBags which I like.

Just saying that as a newhire, you don’t HAVE to spend a fortune at the training center on day one.
5+ years of wearing and washing the Costco Haggars and I haven’t noticed any fading when held up to my M&H burlap sacks that I wore for all of a month.

saw this clothing related thread, jumping on here.

not a SWA guy (I am at another company) but I have been thru numerous "uniform pants" to include the Haggars. The absolute best "uniform pants" I have found are Dillards in-house brand, Roundtree and Yorke Travelsmart Microfiber pants

M&H pants completely suck and I actually experienced testicle pain after a long all-day sequence. I am not being funny, this is a factual statement.

The Roundtree and Yorkes need ZERO ironing out of the dryer, and pretty much need no ironing until Day 2 or so, then just a light touch up. The Haggars are almost as good but in my opinion these are #1 for fit, wrinkle-free, comfort pants.

I’m a huge fan of the ProFlight. Been on the 73 for a few months now and they’ve been excellent. I see a ton of A20s in use, but the reduction in weight/size is a big selling point for me. Apparently the in-ear plugs bother some folks, but I haven’t had issues with the stock inserts.

Ditto. I flew with the A20 for years. It’s heavy and huge. After a few hours of duty, the clampedness of the thing became fatiguing. Plus, I often bumped the top of the headset against the cockpit ceiling which was annoying.

Was stoked when the ProFlight came out. I’ve been using it ever since and haven’t looked back. The ear pieces are totally fine. They’re the same design as the rest of Bose’s earbuds which I wear a couple of hours a day outside the cockpit when I work out. IMO, the ProFlight is far superior to the A20.

Ok, so I have a bunch of M&H pants that still have a lot of life left in them. After reading all the bashing on them I’ll probably look into a more comfortable option when it’s time.

Being a blazer wearer (insert dig here) are there any non-M&H pants that match it? It’s my understanding that not only do you have to match the color but also the texture & pattern of the fabric which is really hard to do.

My uniform coat/blazer is slightly "off" from the RoundTree and Yorke pant color.

Those pants are indeed sold in the Dillards "dress pants" section / suits section so they are designed to have a more professional appearance than say a pair of black or blue Dockers.

Not one Chief Pilot, CEO, or more importantly, a passenger, has asked me about it or given two craps. Not one Captain, ever, to include LCA's, has even batted an eye.

Just got my Jetseam shirt in the mail. I’m 5’10, 185 lbs. normal proportions all around. The sleeves were waaay too short. Folding my arms in front of me, I thought I was going to rip them. Disappointed. Sending them back.
