Thanks for the insights into FedEx. It does make me feel better knowing you can get travel points for all the DHs to use. The travel benefits are more for my family not me per se. If not Fedex, I can see myself moving to a SWA or AA base. AA would offer wide body flying, but terrible finances and with a looming recession it seems risky. FedEx seems like the most logical decision, but still waiting on an interview. SWA isn’t bad at all in the meantime. Just hoping that if I stay that some growth comes with a 20+ career left.

I suppose it depends. Less than a year? Maybe some would if it fits their needs. On seven year pay, I wouldn’t leave with the way things are starting to look economically. I wouldn’t want to be on the bottom of the big three’s list if things go south and it’s not looking promising at the moment. Things can change I guess.

But would anyone leave SWA for AA?

Look, you would have to be a fool to come to SWA over FedEx with all other things being equal and with the information at hand.
I wouldn't leave any viable career destination carrier, SWA included, with more than a couple of years of seniority and without a good reason, like you move to or live in a domicile of the airline you are going to. This industry is waaaaay too fickle, and today's top dog will be tomorrow's industry lagging joke. Nobody knows when the hammer will drop at their place. Cargo could go single piloted in the next 10 years, or it could continue to be a dream job for the next 40. Amazon is the 600 pound gorilla that keeps peeking around the corner.
The pax carriers are always one black swan away from ruin. It's just the nature of running a capital intensive, price and cost sensitive business. Lots of risk factors are at play.
Choose wisely with the information you have and stick it out unless you see a clear and obvious better choice. Best of luck.
