Isn’t the TFP system one of the reasons for the fast taxi? Paid by the trip mileage, not time.

The only thing worse than 2nd jumpseat is when the FAA steps up and says “sorry I’m taking the jumpseat.” Even though it’s my commute flight home. Ask me how I know.

Dont forget that SWA employees can also list for fourth or fifth seats if available. It’s helped me out….

Maybe in the early days but not now. If you fly over the scheduled block you get 0.1 TFP for every 5 minutes over block.

It was more to keep block low and to do 15-20 minute turns. Back when employees where treated like they where needed, not just a widget. Now no one GAS ( 5/20 )and this place cannot turn an AC in 50 minutes anymore .

No. That is not what the contract says. You give away the first 4 minutes (which is BS) and then it's .02 for every minute after, modifiable by premium, ja, and holiday pay.

You're confusing the .1 for every five minutes on every flight that is SCHEDULED over 55 minutes.

I was confusing it with the old CBA where we had to give away the 1st 11 minutes then we got 0.1 TFP for every 5. But in any case to answer the OP SWA pilots get paid by a combination of mileage and time (if overblock).
