Default SWA’s 10 year upgrade is a thing of the past

Todays Captain award is down to 8 years and dropping. A10 year upgrade is now a matter of choice. I’m glad that’s behind us…

Isn’t there some gaps in hiring too from sometime in 2014 to mid to late 2015?

With no protections in our training, you could be moved up four months at any time. Summer training has no impact on this bid. It’s a decision by senior FO’s not to bid to the left seat to get one more year of good vacation. You’ll see one more junior bid in August and the next time you’ll see it will be December.

It does if a senior FO already has summer vacation plans this year, and they don't want to torpedo 2 summers worth of vacations.
