But we all know 1 week of vacation can equal 3 weeks off. And we all know how much Training Scheduling loves to accommodate our personal needs...

Good point. They could send you to school the minute your vacation is over.

Yay… 8 years to sit 4 day weekend reserve at any west coast base I want as opposed to 5ish years at any other major at ANY of their NB bases. Watch the new hire classes fill up now!

Outsider questions about SWA, can you split up your vacation days? Eg, single days? How much can you "break apart" your vacation? Or does it have to be 7 days in a row?

And what's your vacation accrual schedule? (Years service and vacation days)

FWIW, upgrading at Delta in Atlanta off of reserve takes about 10 years seniority if not more.

Where does this happen? AA is the fastest and outside of LGA/LAX you might upgrade in 5/6 but you’re sitting reserve for a long time after

7 year SFO 320 CA at United is still solidly on reserve. The grass isn't THAT much greener...

You may not be required to do training during your vacation month, but if you expertly bid your vaca month for days off, that makes you PRIME for scheduling to drop training right in the middle of the non-working weeks you THOUGHT you were going to have off. This year they moved my training up 5 months just to drop it into my carefully planned vacation month.

5 and 20, the rest is nonsense.
