Anyone thinking about leaving SWA?
I have to admit, if I have to apologize to another customer this summer…I might hit submit on a couple Cargo apps. The only thing keeping me here now is the unstable economy and volatile markets. There has to be another FO that feels the same, this is not the same place it was prior to the MAX incident. I’m getting educated about my decisions…it’s been embarrassing with the meltdowns and this summer will be the same. Never thought I would be saying this.

For me it’s a feeling of boredom with the up and down SWA flying and lack of professional fulfillment. I see the lack of customer service as well but I’m only a small cog in a large system that I have zero control over improving in the grand scheme of things.
Try this:
Board the plane. Turn left. Do your job. Leave and go home. Enjoy the 5th & 20th. It rather liberating.

Yes. I have an app in at FedEx. Been here 5 years. Low confidence in the long term operation. I’ve never once experienced the good days at SWA. Max debacle hit my first year and it’s been a downward slide since then.

I’m lazy. Live in base and refuse to commute again. SWA isn’t going anywhere. If AA and Mesa are the airline version of cockroaches who won’t die, then we’re fine.
I think operation issues are temporary…every airline is having issues now. Your ability to put up with it varies on your commute and pay.
I can put up with a lot for $250k+/yr for working half a year.

Given the pace of technological acceleration, I imagine ALIAS and similar technologies have advanced beyond what is depicted above.

No kidding. I guess year of the CEO telling everyone that that pilots are noting more that a plumber has caught up with the hiring. Why anyone would want to come this place is beyond me . Just wait to the new pay rates, we will be in the bottom 10 percent of the industry.
