Yup. A 100 seat airplane to go to those smaller dots on the map. Knoxville, Burlington, Daytona, Greensboro, etc… etc… etc.
Way more likely than the inefficiencies created by a fleet of maybe a dozen used 767 sized widebodies that we would fly only to those places that accept US currency.

I'd take any current E-175 provider over a mainline product or us any day, let alone ULCC's.... I have not been on A220 yet, but I wouldn't knock it.

The only reason 175s in the United States are comfortable is cause they are limited to 76 seats by scope. Much less comfortable over in Europe where they have 88 in an all economy configuration. Also they have to check half the bags every flight on the 175

And since the 737-800 isn't worth any more to fly than a -300, it seems only fitting that an E190 or something like that shouldn't pay any less. After all, they set the precedent.
