Agreed. Watch these rumors go away in two years when our new contract is ratified.

Do not leave out the Q-400, they have talked about that for years . If I was to wager, my money is on the Q-400

Are they still making those? If the Q then why not the ATR-72-600 instead. It’s a better airplane.

Personally, I hope the MAX7 gets axed and they buy a bunch of A-220s instead. Wish in one hand and…..well you know how the rest of the saying goes.

Its amazing how many people I fly with think the A220 is an RJ, and are shocked when I tell them it holds about the same number of pax as a -700 but with better range and runway performance.

I don’t understand how professionals in this business can have their head in the sand regarding competitive developments. I’m equally shocked when we fly into Burbank and they’ve never heard of Avelo, or into Tampa and they have never heard of Breeze (we dismiss Neeleman at our own peril)… or they don’t know about Allegiant’s Max order. I can’t help but think, “come on guys, this is our PROFESSION! How can you be so oblivious as to what is happening across the street? Because it’s all connected. Competition, other airline CBAs, pilot sourcing… it all matters and will impact the CBA we ultimately earn.

Absolutely agreed. I am incredulous when I mention the A-220-300 has the same seating capacity as a -700 NG after hearing, “I don’t want to fly that RJ”.

That “RJ” is WAAAAAAY nicer than the MAX7 and has better economics & performance. RJ my a$$.

Everyone knows that the proper response when told to follow or give way to the Delta A220 is to say "roger, give way to the RJ". I thought we agreed to this in the last meeting.

Sure. Just don’t get butthurt when they call us the Boeing RJ (which is exactly what we are).

Speaking of RJs that’s 100% closer to the direction I see us going if we add a second fleet type rather than stepping up to WBs. Cheaper, less system-wide complexity (currency conversion, setting up international stations, etc.), and fills a competitive gap as mainlines cut their feeder routes and regionals close their doors for lack of pilots/contracts. Not saying it’s what I necessarily want, but it seems the most Southwestish thing to do. Anyways, time to head out of the hotel here in Fresno…

Yup. A 100 seat airplane to go to those smaller dots on the map. Knoxville, Burlington, Daytona, Greensboro, etc… etc… etc.

Way more likely than the inefficiencies created by a fleet of maybe a dozen used 767 sized widebodies that we would fly only to those places that accept US currency.
