They’re both short-haul RJs of the Boeing line up, except one’s not even a Boeing.
I think you’re mistaking me for someone that actually liked the B717. I much prefer the wide-body Boeing RJ even though I’m getting rather “over” the uncomfortableness of it.

A220 has a cabin 2 inches less wide than a 737 MAX but with 5 seats per row instead of 6.

Just heard straight from the COO at the training center. Sounds like the plan is steady growth and rebuilding for the next couple of years and then eventually pushing expansion. New bases will eventually come and possible second fleet type at some point down the road. Sounds like they don’t want two airplanes doing the same mission, so no A220/737 combo. They said it’s more efficient to have two fleet types that have two different missions. That’s the latest I’ve heard. No mentions of 787/797 but he did say it’s inevitable that a second type would come over the next 10-15 years.
