Beards can be professional, as long as they are trimmed and neat. Lots of Forbes 500 CEOs fashion a nice manly beard. Not the 1950's anymore.

He was not referencing beards. Our CEO made a statement that we are basically the same as plumber’s

Pretty funny you referenced Forbes 500 CEOs along with WN pilots . if our CEO Heard you make that reference , I think he would have a stroke .

Maybe his wife used a southwest pilot's plumbing service.

Where are the Safety Management System career long professionals who've devoted entire careers and educations to mitigating risks at the System and Organizational level.

That are implanted at multiple levels in the FAA and the SWA organizations and have built entire empires around "Safety".

Why are they not beating there drums as hiring standards continue to plummet due to market forces.
Wait.

We all already know the answer to that one.

Don't ask hard questions, that way you don't have to deal with the hard answers.

It's going to take Colgan Air v.2.0 before anyone cares. There are costs associated with everything, and so far the only costs incurred by the company due to the lowering of the bar have been a few extra sim hours and a few hours of CKA's time. Even dinging a wingtip or 2 is cheaper than paying pilots more.
