Huge if true. I didn't think the lowering of the bar would be apparent so quick but apparently here we are. This is what happens when you have an industry lagging contract coupled with the longest upgrades in the industry.

This is what I’ve been hearing from a check airman that’s in the know. We’re getting a lot of “Tier 2” applicants, meaning less qualified and/or no turbine PIC time, no 121 time, etc.
Also, the bust rate for new-hires has increased, so this thing about 12 not getting recommended for the PC doesn’t surprise me.

My bud, a very SR CKA just told me it was 12 from a recent class. Not instructors or pilots. But I doubt they have 12 instructors in one class. Maybe a combo of both. I also had a guy fresh off IOE. He shouldn't have been signed off. My CKA bud said he is pushing for additional training for new hires. They are seeing a trend.
