I misinterpreted your post.
I think I actually misinterpreted yours as well. The WARNed would definitely have been shaken by what happened if they chose WN mostly for security. Base and base security would have to be near the top of priorities when choosing the uniform. Cheers.

To be honest I was worried and in the 2500 at the time. Nobody knew what was coming.

A sizable portion of the CA’s I fly with drop the:

“herr durr they HAD to warn you guys, you understand that, right??!1?”

Literally within 6 hours of meeting them.

Pull your head out of the sand, stop apologizing for the company. SW didn’t warn after 9/11 or in 08 because it made no business sense for them to do so.

By far this type of thinking scares me the most about a career at SWA. Everything else is pretty good, but man the koolies are next level spooky.

They didn’t WARN after 9/11?

Anyway, I think if it was a political act to pressure for bailout funds it was in horrible taste to put us out as pawns.

What is even more amazing is how many Captains ask "what is that 1221 sticker on your bag"? Or "why did you leave the transponder set to 1221"?

That’s next level out of touch. Too busy polishing their boat, *****ing about their 3 exes, and parking trips on blocked boards to pay attention to anyone else I guess.

My favorites are when I was displaced out in LAX (commuting from Florida) was "can't you give anything away"... CAN YOU?

"Well my neighbor who works at United was furloughed twice..." - occurred when the FO was just barley hitting puberty.

"Delta's bases suck, I could never work there." - plans on sleeping in the lounge to make a 5am departure then a 2 hour drive to get home.

"American is going bankrupt..." - even if they did, they couldn't afford to cut the pilot contract. AA ain't going anywhere.

"Well I could never work at Fedex because I couldn't fly at night." - while setting up for a 5am departure after waking up at 2am body clock time.

Also have to add *****ing about “being forced” to retire at 65. Mind boggling.
