Yeah they can only JA you if you are on an active duty period. They can't cold call you at home and get you on the hook.

You guys need to relax ! It’s going to be YEARS before you see a contract. It’s a process that will play out the same as it does here and every other airline.

They would be wise to see to a signing bonus retroactive to expiration if they want to avoid it again too.

I haven't bid on an OT trip since last May because of bait and switch potential. Not worth the hassle.

No retro ever made up past amendable dates for any airline period. They will call it whatever you want but it won’t be near the cost of them dragging their feet. By the end of all this I just hope we can attain the basic principles what the union wants.

That’s exactly what happened. I was called in September, virtual in October, hired in November, and given a March class date. I’d be at SWA right now if it was a December class like they guessed it would be. There’s just too many options for people to wait 6 months for the hiring process. I’m guessing attrition will improve as the wait comes down.

Where’d you end up at instead?

The koolaide BS from Dallas makes me wish they just pulled a random SMF homeless dude to run flight ops instead. But overall, the job is good. The money is ok. The other pilots are generally great to fly with. Driving to work is glorious. There’s good stuff here at SWA, you just have to look for it.

Random SMF homeless dude…. Love it!
