Yeah they can only JA you if you are on an active duty period. They can't cold call you at home and get you on the hook.

No retro ever made up past amendable dates for any airline period. They will call it whatever you want but it won’t be near the cost of them dragging their feet. By the end of all this I just hope we can attain the basic principles what the union wants.

How much of this do y’all think is attributed to March being the first real month of new hire training in 2022? My understanding is most of Jan-Feb was dedicated to bringing back EXTOs. Anecdotal, but I can totally see someone who was hired in Dec but had to wait until Mar for training to go elsewhere in the meantime if the opportunity presented itself.

That’s exactly what happened. I was called in September, virtual in October, hired in November, and given a March class date. I’d be at SWA right now if it was a December class like they guessed it would be. There’s just too many options for people to wait 6 months for the hiring process. I’m guessing attrition will improve as the wait comes down.

I hope it works out for you. This is where people come to b!tch, so have to view APC with a grain of salt. It’s definitely not the airline I thought I was being hired at 5 yrs ago and I’m embarrassed of our product, and the way we treat our pax and fellow employees. The koolaide BS from Dallas makes me wish they just pulled a random SMF homeless dude to run flight ops instead. But overall, the job is good. The money is ok. The other pilots are generally great to fly with. Driving to work is glorious. There’s good stuff here at SWA, you just have to look for it.
Random SMF homeless dude…. Love it!
