Why would we take the first offer? You know the company will low ball it.

It’s also feasible to argue that assuming the 1,221 will all vote no on a less-than-industry-leading TA or that the pilot group at large will follow suit will foster a complacency that ends up helping to assure another lagging contract is voted in.

When the lagging TA comes, and it will, if the more engaged members of the pilot group, especially the newer members of the pilot group, assume that it will, of course, get voted down because, duh, everyone can see how lagging it is, they are setting themselves up for another decade or so of living under a substandard contract. Fighting the passage of a second-rate TA will require a monumental effort by the engaged members (like people who post on pilot forums). And even with a monumental effort, a sub-par TA may pass muster with this pilot group because of the overall lacking of a clue that has prevailed here for five decades.
Zap?!

I can answer that

I would do this job for free
I make enough money
I do not wanna kill the goose that laid the golden egg
I make more than my neighbor who is a manager at target
if I want to make more money I can just fly more days

I am sure I missed some

That's all out the window after the JA on an open time award. Or the JA into the displaced base (LAX) while flying a trip out of their preferred base (MCO).

There is literally nothing at this airline that infuriates me more than a bait and switch, followed by a JA on an open time award. That is some Mickey Mouse commuter airline 💩.

Seriously. Had a friend respond to the call to help over the summer...she never bids open time. Picked up a turn, got JA'd into another 2-day. Then got JA'd into a 2nd 2-day. A turn became a 5 day trip. Her exact quote "well I'm never doing that again" Think she's an automatic yes vote? I don't...

So can someone explain the rules with being JA? I wasn’t under the impression a 1 day could be extended indefinitely.
