Ground school masks?

Dude do you wear the mask in the cockpit up until the door closes? That’s the rule. Also do you wear the mask before the door opens? It’s the rule. If your not then don’t preach to me about rules. Also the rule says and CO RBF says you must wear in crew lounges. Do you wear in the lounge at all times. That is the rule. I have never followed those rules from beginning.
Where have you read that the rule is , mask must be worn while flight deck door is open ?
It says you can exercise good judgement
regarding wearing the mask .

Sounds like you have justified it to yourself pretty well. At the end of the day, your customers and coworkers are looking at you blatantly violating a rule for your convenience. As a pilot, you should do better. But politics and freedom. Yeah!

Another pure anecdote- commuting on a super delayed southwest flight on Friday night.
Half the people on the plane were sleeping with their head back and masks on their chins. Not a peep from the FA’s. The dude across from me took off his mask during service and never put it back on, even while deplaning. Not a peep from the Fa.
And I’ll concur that the amount of maskless pax in the terminal has skyrocketed the last couple weeks. Devon where you are it’s a third not wearing it at all.
Fingers crossed we’re in the last month.

on the aircraft, during preflight briefings, in the galley in the presence of Customers, on hotel shuttle.”
Prelight briefings. How many briefing do we have? Crew, Captain, PM. So do you do those with the door shut, before getting the paperwork? Just curious. The rule says you will have your mask on when doing them? So do you have yours on?? You are in view of the customers. If you don’t your in violation of the rule.

Oh, so you don’t do Captain briefing or listen to Capt briefing? As long as I have been at SWA we have done them with the cockpit door open. Then there is the Pilot flying briefing which consist of clearance, mcp setup, fmc routing, automation and nagivation setup, EO turn procedure etc. so you don’t do that in cockpit either, hmm? Our FOM/Aom says these items must briefed. So are you not following FOM/AOM guidance when flying SWA airplanes? These are preflight briefing item are they not?? The mandate says you must have a mask on. Our company policy says you must complete these briefing every leg. These briefing are done with the door open before the ops agent brings the paperwork.. So you don’t have your mask on? Do you take it off after the door closes? It’s simple question.

It does not say to wear while the flight deck door is open, that is what you said . What part of that do you not understand. I cannot explain it any better to you .

I agree but just rode a flight on WN were the A FA non stop harrassed the pax on wearing mask. Even stopping service to make a PA to remind pax of the mask mandate to where it took 2 hrs to do a service. She was out of control.and no one did anything to stop her. It was horrible. While waiting to for a gate for an hr she continued to tell people to keep their mask on and then when waiting for a gate for 20 min kept harassing people to keep mask over nose. People like this should be fired.
