Still waiting for this great rebellion. I have flown the line extensively in the last week, and other than the typical too cool for school one or two pax in the terminal, I haven't seen anybody not following any rules with the masks.
Just remember, your career is a tweeted video away from being put in jeopardy by someone with a vendetta. If you think openly and flagrantly violating a rule set by the feds is worth it, then by all means, go for it. Before you do, though, go take a listen to the SWAPA number podcasts (there are two of them) on discipline and please remember that your patriot buddies on the freedom flyers telegram aren't going to be there at your hearing.

As for the training center, sounds like optional masking is the rule right now. They had a bad wave of COVID in January that hospitalized and killed some staff, so they were mandatory masking for a while.

I have seen far more people not wearing the masks over the last week than I have in the last two years. No one seems to be hassling them about it either.

Everyone just needs to do as they are told. No matter how insane the direction is, and especially, if it makes no logical sense. The only way is the way of compliance. Don’t risk anything for being non-compliant. This great world wasn’t built by risk takers and those willing to challenge authority figures. It was built by living in fear and letting others make your personal choices. Grab your crayons and coloring books and stop trying to formulate thoughts in your own heads. It only ends once you give up sovereignty over your own body to the politicians and elites.

SWAPA? Really I would not expect much help from them either, they are a laughing stock in my opinion. SWAPA has gone full woke!! But I see pilots and FA everyday not wearing the mask at airports. I wear mine through TSA then take it off. I also find interesting that Covid is not a threat in crew lounges, why is that??. The company RBF claims you have to have mask on at the Airport and in all crew lounges. The Chief pilots are not wearing them, no body wearing them in crew lounges.

I don't think anyone is under any illusion that the masks are currently serving any purpose. It is still a rule, though. You are one customer or FA social media post away from having to explain yourself as to why you chose to ignore it when everyone else seems to be grown up enough to just do it.

You think you look like some great American patriot, but really you just look like a moron who can't be bothered with rules they don't like. That reflects on you, the company, and the profession.

I died of covid last year because a moron didn’t wear their mask in the terminal, and another idiot didn’t jab themselves. I’m busy haunting them now. Do you want that too? Mask up forever and respect my loss.

Swapa up until just a while back was fully for the mask mandate! Just as it was for the vaccine mandate. SWAPA sets on the fence and slides which ever way the wind blows. They have never stepped up for the pilots who did not want to wear these things, nor have they stepped up to defend the pilots who did not want to get the shot. They claim they are pro choice. Yeah right!! Also, if the company and SWAPA are following the so called science like they claim when all this broke, then why was SWAPA not jumping up and down on table demanding that mask must be worn in the crew lounges? After all it was about saving lives was it not?? I know they were told about it. Also SWAPA reps are in the crew loungers all the time, they could see no one was wearing mask in the lounges. I tell you why, because they did not believe this BS worked either, but because they had gone full woke, they just did what they were told.

So I guess all the chiefs in the lounges did not like following the rules either?? Just do as we say not as we do, is that it?

I’ll take my chances, I don’t wear it after TSA. I’m seeing many more who are as well.
