This is how it's paid, yes. If you want to bang out fatigued at the start of a trip, it's much better for you to do it after check in.

Can someone tell me if this happens alot here? I bid straight as a 1st year FO on an open time trip. Just had a senior FO change his bid from premium to straight so that he got awarded the trip. Do people actually bid straight on premium trips? Wtf are you doing dude.

I get it.. I mean it's odd but they have every right to work at straight time too.

It does happen. The reason is probably that he gave away something earlier in the month and wants to make up the pay—likely wouldn’t have gotten it at premium. Also, is there stuff in giveaway for the same days? Maybe not.

Welcome to November.

January and Febuary will probably be worse.

Thats why if you want it for straight, don’t put your bid in until a few seconds before the bid closes or else you give premium bidders time to change their bid to straight if they want

First year guys should use MOT first and foremost. The senior morons bidding OT, I will call anyone that right to your face BTW anytime and anywhere, don’t play in MOT very often. They are sharks eating their young and if they were smart they would TTGA stuff and leave the OT to the new guys. But of course that’s not what sharks do….anyway MOT is where it’s at for you, you still get 2nd year pay and then can flip it in ELTT if you want.

Why should senior people leave OT for new pilots? If you want something straight, have at it.

I dunno what FO TTGA looks like, but CA TTGA is picked clean.
