Yeah, live in Denver. SLC would be a close 2nd. No thanks on SEA, PDX, or anything in CA....nice places to visit, but the politics and cost of living are deal breakers.
If I didn't get hired here, I'd be commuting or working at UAL/F9 and rolling the dice that the company still exists at age 65.

Back to the original question, the thing that attracted me to SWA initially was that there were legitimately 4 or 5 domiciles that I found acceptable, plus you had the ability to jump around monthly (not lately I know). Flown with several guys who summered in Denver, wintered somewhere warmer. Honestly don’t know where SWA would be on my list today though. Probably not first, but definitely not last.

Yup! Once my youngest is out. I’ll sell my house to a liberal Californian that likes ruining where they move too. Pay cash for two homes elsewhere. CO is going the same direction as CA. SWA was the only choice when I was hired. It wouldn’t have been my first choice then or now.

Hate to break it to you, but Denver is rapidly going the way of those places with the politics and cost of living. Homeless everywhere, housing through the roof, single party rule firmly in place. Still love it, but you only have to look at CA to see the future of CO.

I wouldn’t mind living in upstate ID or NW MT, but I won’t commute….so in 25 years or so will
have to decide where to retire.

My brother lives in Idaho, says they are building like crazy and the CalExit is causing property values to be sky high. Same of course here in northern AZ.
One of my kids is in college, the other has a couple years left in high school—I’ll bid a junior upgrade west as I can commute ok, but as for when it happens we will see.
I still think SWA still has strengths in stability, domicile choice, single fleet commonality making base transfers easier, strong orders, possible growth.
Were I to apply today, I’d probably try Delta first, but I’d still apply to WN.
