Never been to that one, but I don’t get down to Fort Worth much. I got into Hard 8 flying to their original location in Stephenville. The flying club I’m in does frequent fly-ins down there. Once I found out they had them in the metroplex too it became my go-to place to bring out of town guests for a uniquely Texas experience. Plus I just love the outdoor seating. Something about cool breeze, smoky air, and cold beer makes it a party!
If you are into flying club stuff, don’t count out Coopers in Llano. Right near the airport. Well worth it. I’d say it beats the original Hard 8.

I’ve done the Hard 8 in Stephenville as well. Apparently has a SWA connection (former owner was married to a SWA FA or something).

As a new hire, a few of us went downtown and ate at Pecan Lodge. It was good, but seemed like it was more hipster BBQ (BBQ in a nice restaurant setting).....if I'm paying BBQ prices I want the butcher paper, loaf of bread, table of sauces and a cow trough full of beer.

Is that Hard 8 the one by DFW? That's the one I've eaten at.....been a long time since we don't fly into DFW.

I have tried just about every BBQ joint in the metroplex, and I think Hutchin's in Mckinney is the best. It edges out Hard 8 by a nose and has free cobbler and ice cream. It’s a bit of a hike from DAL, but well worth it.
