I might get frustrated when seniority causes something to not work out my way, but I don’t say it’s a garbage move, because that’s the system I signed up for.
Nobody said it was a garbage move. They said you are wasting a vacation week.

That is a true statement.

If you bid a summer week, have the seniority to be awarded that summer week, but then show up at work....you have quite literally 'wasted' that week of vacation.

You will be rewarded monetarily, but that week of vacation is gone forever.

You actually believe that?

Yeah they did just a few posts up.

Believe what? I’m just saying what was in the reporting point when we were voting for a vacation change. But this isn’t a vacation thread.

And yeah, I pulled in 165 this month and worked 9 days AND took a weeklong trip with my family. Why? Because I can.
I would never and have never texted anybody about how to bid opentime.

Yes. Vacation week is gone. But “I can’t wait for year end pay thread to be started so I can run to APC and brag about how much I made! Where’s my flip book with pictures of my boat, 3 girlfriends, 4 Wheelers, trout pond, wife’s fake boobs, mountain home, keto diet, Tesla, and calf implants.”

I got a lot of friends who’ve been hired since Dec and some have asked how to make the most $ they can with 0 seniority. I’ll give some tricks I know that I wish someone had told me…like if you live in base and bid a rsv block it and anything awarded pays 2nd yr pay. Most people won’t bid rsv since they can do better with premium so you sit at home for 2nd yr pay or go work and make more.

Based on the vacancy projection, you'll have another shot for July and the amount of bypassers will increase. Will be very interesting to see if upgrade goes more senior for October (after vacation bids).

Another very interesting development - right now the junior Captain will be in Denver...you need a little more seniority to hold Oakland or LA.

Sadly I have vacation in July, and was told by SWAPA contract admin take it or leave it. If I take the upgrade I'd have to move my vacation. Since I've made promises to the family that I'm unwilling to break, I'll have to bypass again.

According to the SWAPA SRC personal bidding projection tool, there are 523 pilots senior to me bidding (I’m late 2015).

The top three bids are DEN, DAL, and MCO in order.

I have seen at least three of y’all’s wives via full iPad presentation, and I mean SEEN. As in all of it. Like a photo shoot. Voluntarily. I mean, thanks I guess. I suppose you want us to see what you’re paying for. But she loves you for YOU. Yeah ok.

Haha. Same here. One of my first trips in the airline industry had a full on slideshow of naked wife pics. I mean what do you say to something like that? Thanks? Good job? In what freaky deaky universe is that the norm?

Thankfully I either gained enough seniority or just put off the "no naked wife" vibe now. I haven't seen anything exposed below the waist in like 3 or 4 years. Some of y'all need Jesus.
