The SWAPA of 10 years ago isn't the SWAPA of today. Thank god.

Ok, so late 2015 hire is under 1000 from junior capt (OAK), and just over 800 FOs are senior enough to hold it.

What are we thinking now? If 600 upgrade this year, it could be a surprise next year for the 2015 guys. Better update the standing bids!

Maybe I’m looking at this wrong, which is usually the case with me and numbers.

Which shows an increase in the number of FOs bypassing upgrade. Past couple vacancy awards had brought that number down to below 800 i believe and now it's back up to 845. Commuting across the country for a 6 month seat lock isn't for everyone...

It is a little confusing. Most junior left seater is around 400 numbers senior to a pilot hired at the top of 2014.
About 850 FOs senior to that pilot can hold Captain right now though.

So 850 decided “no thanks” to OAK, but could’ve held it if they wanted to. That’s a big number!

How about subsequent years?

I calculated it going back up to 10+ fjr a 2017 hire assuming 500 upgrades/yr

ZFW issues, an airport that’s a PITA to get to from most places back east, can’t say that I blame them.
