Does not look like much growth to me. Growth to a pilot is airframes added. not cities added. By adding all these leisure cities the company is trying to make up for the lost revenue of the lost business traveler, which I'm not sure is coming back anytime soon to deal with Mask mandates etc.

Incorrect, growth (to a pilot) is basically block hours added, but even that is simplifying it.

The company is currently limited by crews, not aircraft. Yes there are a few airplanes gone, reason being there is no reason to keep old 700s around when there is no crew to operate them and they would have soon been replaced by new MAXs.

Everything comes to down to training capacity right now.

LOL! Okay and they replace a 145 seat 700 with a 175 seat 800, they just added 20% more capacity and no growth. LOL! Good luck with that.

Southwest clearly would like to take the -7 based on the order book including the options they exercised, but since the -7 is not certified, they've exercised options on a few -8s.

In any case, the size of aircraft doesn't do anything to change what matters, which is total block hours. And block hours will increase because in order to put the schedule back to together including the new cities, frequencies will increase.

Hiring will be strong as demand is there and airplanes are still parked.

So in other words we are now hauling more pax with less airplanes and you think that helps with your upgrade? Demand won't be there very long when everyone is paying $4.00/gal for gas and the grocery bills have increased 30%.

No probably about it. I fly with many who do not want rigs on all the trips. They feel as if they might lose out on some open time if the trips had rigs . You can’t fix stupid, I have just given into the fact that whatever SWAPA brings to us will be voted in by the membership.

SWAPA will bring you a turd. And they will tell you how great it is, and then after that many of those same people will end up at the HQ building. Rinse and repeat! Been that way in my 21 years here, not going to be any different this time.
