I was actually safe by a small margin, but that meant I would’ve been two-legging it to OAK to sit reserve. I’d prefer furlough. I would’ve done as much ETO and give-away as possible and driven the truck. 😎

Would you trust this company to run a PBS system that is going to be "industry leading" or honor our contract? They have already proven that they are going to take a mile every time they smell an inch. No thank you.
PBS is a concession. Period. Dot.
It's not even up for discussion. The trust just doesn't exist between our pilot group and the company to make it a thing.

For those of you who haven't, download and read the latest reporting point (the one that discusses C2020). It's great stuff. It really puts out there what we are seeking to gain and what we have to offer the company. All this bluster about pay rates and I won't accept this and we need to get that is laid out in an easy to read, well presented, and data based format for your digestion. It's what your negotiators are seeking at the table.

SWAPA is us. It's our union. It isn't someone else. Don't let the sins of SWAPA past sully your opinion. Either educate yourselves and get involved or sit back and accept what comes your way without complaint. Anyone who was here for the last contract knows that four decades of burying our heads in the sand and letting the union and the company "meet and confer" has gotten us jack.

That’s what I was thinking. Let’s figure out how to sell tickets to Mexicans first.

I don’t trust the company and that’s the main reason for my opposition to PBS here; I like the flexibility and control we have. Not to mention the fact that even if they were sincere I don’t think they have the capacity to do it well. Just look at how poorly they manage training scheduling and operational roll-outs.

btw, the union contracted the vendor, and built and managed PBS at my last company with the pairings the company built. Before the pairings went into the system the union had to approve them so they met certain QOL and credit criteria. We also did a number of preliminary bids so you could see if you needed to tweak your bid prior to closing.

No way I’d trade our vacation for pref bid vacation (and I’ve had both).

Same. While I wasn’t 1221, I was bottom 25%. I used the motivation to prepare for furlough. My project car fund became my furlough fund. I took a covid distribution and paid off all my debt with a reserve fund for CDL school and renewed my CFI’s.

The hiring storm is coming pending this covid BS and what the communists in office have planned.

Project car build is shelved for now. Maybe one day....

Never had to do it. Thank god. The Commander was busy flying his rear end off trying to save for furlough. And for the record, I’m not for PBS. But if it does happen, it’s not all doom and gloom. There will be pros and cons to it.

No PBS!!

I’ve had it at other companies before. I thought it was the best thing... until I came to SWA. Our system spanks PBS’s behind. No PBS!
