And I wonder if their are some senior ExTO captains that will retire instead of come back early. The captain I just flew with said he personally knows some.

I thought the same thing. There will surely be a handful, but most of those guys are way too greedy. Guys that are running a side gig/other job may throw in the towel, but most guys who were in that boat just took VSP.

Maybe a bunch of discovered while on EXTO that the extra coin from coming back to work isn't worth it.

It's an awful lot of coin for very little work. At least for those who don't generate their own drama.

Nope, but until the company comes up with a sick buyback plan or admits there is some payback due for previous gives, then the "spirit of SWA" is to squeeze every drop out of the contract you can. Because the consistent messaging you get what you negotiate has come through loud and clear.

Just like covid vaccine sick pulls. That second shot is scheduled a full month in advance, but the company has NO PLAN or process to deal with that. So either you call your CP to get a pull in advance, or wait until the day prior and call in sick. For that matter, you may as well use ELITT or TTGA to get the fattest highest paying trip intentionally overlayed on your second covid shot. Because the company has told us at least twice that they simply don't care. Get the vaccine and sick out of any conflicting trips, end of story. If they wanted anything different, they'd have come up with process for it.
