EXTO AND VSP were paid for with government money. SWA has dipped very little into its own pocket. And when offered better interest loans to survive they quickly declined because it would have effected managements ability to pay themselves with stock buybacks (pump stock price) And dividends (they own lots of stock). They want us to pay for the extra cost of hire rate loan interest.

Having lived through it, most of you will forget this affront to your sensibility's in the next 6 months to a year. You will have forgotten it by the time you vote on your next contract. Hopefully a “remnant” will not. It will take years for that “remnant”to find its voice and a few more years to rise up. Hopefully the “remnant” will lead your group away from the management-centric in house union and find its footing with ALPA. ALPA is not magic but it puts a comfortable wall between you and your airline executives. It is helpful to move away from whats good for SWA pilots and at least have a connection to what is good for other pilots.
Good luck either way it goes..

we've already had one president like that. He's negotiating against us now. Pass.

Explain how that bureaucratic machine would have helped anything that has happened since 2016? You sound like you have interest in SWA going ALPA. I wouldn't be surprised to find you posting on American's board pushing them to do the same.
I think we would end up paying more dues for no more benefit.

Could not have been said better. ALPA sucks, just go ask any EAL or TWA pilot .

As for ALPA National, they’re a weak-dick “association” in my experience and I’m happy to hopefully never have anything to do with them again.
Really it all comes down to your local reps and what their personality, values and especially their tenacity is like no matter if you’re ALPA or in-house.
As a former ALPA member at two previous carriers, let me make my feelings clear......F—K ALPA (National).

I was formerly represented by the Teamsters. I saw nothing but a taking off my dues. Since joining Southwest a little over three years I have been nothing but impressed by SWAPA. Every call is answered quickly, they take a strong stand and then stick by it and appear to truly work for the benefit of the members.
it would be a cold day in a warm place before I would vote to leave SWAPA.

I will never forget reading Duane Woerth’s compensation package. Disgusting.
SWAPA has been Awesome for me. Every time I call, someone answers and actually wants to help.
Alpa is an Amway scam with multiple layers of money leeches.
After the last month, I can clearly see why JW is so popular. I hope the new guy has the same fire.
NO F’n way I’d want anything other than SWAPA
KEEP ALPA OUT
