That sucks, but it's a product of getting hired right before the pandemic. Those getting hired today should not have that same expectation.
During normal times when we were hiring, 6 months was a valid expectation to be off reserve in a non-Atlanta or Orlando type of base. Double it right now since they have decided to double the reserves. They are allegedly going to go back to 10 percent reserves after the summer, but I will believe it when I see it.

It’s almost like pushing the reserves through the roof and then smashing all the block onto the hard lines makes for an even more unstable house of cards than we usually live in.

Because. Trying to smash premium with a ton of Economic Reserves. Doesn't work.
It's not about protecting the operation. That's not on the ppt slide pack.
Premium Awarded and Reserve Utilization % is though.

Yep. The number of 0400 reports is astounding. I flew a trip with 04XX reports for 3 days in a row recently. I will never volunteer for that garbage again, even at premium. 3:30am alarms, 2 of them at a time zone east of my home. It was pure pain and terrible on your body and mind.

My thoughts after coming back from exto is the trips are exponentially worse than before. Yeah, you might see ridiculous early am wakeup once in a while pre-covid, but seems like it’s routine now. My latest had sub-4 am wakeups all 3 days. Days are longer and overnights shorter. In my 4+ years pre-covid I maybe did 2 five-leg days total and four-leg days were rare as well - once or twice a month maybe. Granted it seems like long days are the standard across the industry, even cargo guys are complaining, but this is not sustainable over the long term. At least not for me.
I wish I had taken VSP.
(I realize many of you have been dealing with this for a while now. Thank you for holding the operation together.)
