This does make an interesting opportunity available in that if you commute East and fly PM pairings, it opens up late night commute home options for a lot of folks that normally would be stuck staying in base.
LAS flying trends west as do all SWA west bases. This was done years ago as a result of fatigue issues on AM east coast pairings originating from west coast bases. It is a heavy commuter base.

Or follow the JetBlue model and do redeye island turns? Leave BWI around 10pm. Fly down to Puerto Rico, turn at 2am, and have the airplane back in BWI in time for the morning push.
B6 fills up the airplanes doing that kind of stuff every night.

Recently completed FO leadership training. Network planning came in and said red eyes are a great potential, but mainly to connect Hawaii with east coast. So red eye from Hawaii to CA, then connect with existing routes to east coast. Of course, potential to do more from there, but the immediate red eye flying will be Hawaii - CA.
