Pilot bases are relatively cheap. If the company won't give us a competitive (let alone industry leading) contract, what's a way the company can guarantee we're the absolute do or die first choice destination airline for every single pilot who lives in MCI, STL, and BNA?
Why do you think United opened up a crew base in MCO and will be opening up a base in TPA? Throw the chump change of a couple million a year and now United can advertise bases where TONS of pilots live.
Let's say $10m a year to guarantee that every MO/TN/northern MS/southern IL/KS pilot will flock to swa contract be darned? Much cheaper than a contract.
Yes it'll be good for our pilot group too, but don't think that ANY decision made by this company first and foremost thinks of how it will help them.

DAL has 700 pilots in each seat right now, which seems pretty high. Wouldn't be surprised to see them cut a couple hundred from both seats to add to BNA. Hoping I won't be displaced.
The mother of all vacancy bids will be an unfortunate distraction for this pilot group at the worst possible time.

For those of you that have been to recurrent or whatever the hell it’s called nowadays, has there been any mention made of the MAX7?
I’m telling you…..something is up and it’s not good. The bracket problems, the MAX8 that dumped into BDL with severe airframe vibration, something is being hidden about the MAX7 certification.
NO WAY it should be taking this damn long!

What domiciles will they draw down in order to staff BNA, MCI, and STL?

Okay, given your unfortunate past that probably wasn’t funny but damn I couldn’t resist.
