And don’t let them schedule your return to duty on the assumption you should be rested by a certain time. It can’t determine in advance when you’ll be fatigued in order to schedule wisely and likewise it can’t be determined in advance when you’ll be recovered.
I tell them I need sufficient rest and I’ll let them know when I’ve had it. Especially if they try to put you to rest outside your circadian rhythm.
I can’t be up to the wee hours and get a good day’s rest, I need a good night’s rest before I’m sufficiently recovered.

They stop you right there and send you to the hotel, then schedule you to DH back to your domicile after your rest. You can ask them to DH you back to your commute city or just get released when you get your rest.

^^^^^^ This cannot be overstated. Same goes for nutrition.
Literally before every push, each one of us signs the statement that we are fit and ready to go. Think about that.... you're assuming all liability for your fitness.
Don't be a hero. When you're not up to it, you're not up to it. Accept no unnecessary risk is what the book says. Follow the book.

This isnt totally accurate. While this is one option, they can and have just put you on a DH back to base if you agree to it. I actually had a cs ask me if I would prefer to do that.

Not sure why taking a DH home on your last day with a fatigue call is hero ****, but OK I guess. If you want to sit in the hotel instead of going home and getting actual rest that is up to each person.

Unlike a JSer, aren't you technically in a duty status when DH'ing? Considered a crew member?

In my most recent fatigue call, all the flights were full so they just gave me a deadhead and released me and I jumpseated home.
In other news, a must ride doesn't guarantee you a seat. There have to be seats available. I am sure it's "industry leading" though.
