Don’t get too excited. Our(UAL) Aviate program has been riddled with issues. Poor comm, rapidly changing requirements, and training backlogs in AZ to name a few.

Last I heard Aviate has yet to put someone all the way to United mainline. If that's still true, how doesn't make it "proven?" Seems to me the jury would still be out if that's the case.

Are you sure about that? How many Aviate students are flying mainline today? D225 has at least a hundfull at SWA now, earliest being an April start if I recall.

most of that handfull, if not all, most likely came through the "Military Currency" pathway of the D225 program. For a retiring military aviator who has the hours but spent their final couple of tours flying a desk, and just need to get current and maybe also get their ATP, they can complete a tailored program in just a few months and go straight into a NH class, and that's considered part of the D225 program. Unlike the basic cadet pathway which requires a year or two at a "partner" carrier to build hours.

I happen to have been in upgrade when the first D225 cadets were starting their initial and not one was from the mil path. One came from iAero, 2 came from Oxford with zero turbine time, and one from a jet charter company.

I was in upgrade back in June and the 225 candidate from the company video was touring the NOC. Seems like they do several visits to the school house before they are fully onboard.

Where is this magical place? every FBO is costing about the same in terms of hours as Part 61. I wish we could do all ratings for less then $90k. When I add up the costs at the mom & pops I still get around $90 and thats without uniform training etc.
