I don't put anyone on my avoidance bid list. I'm not willing to sacrifice my quality of life, work or paycheck because someone is difficult to work with. I've been paired with high avoidance bid guys/gals, and we usually understand each other very well by the second leg of the trip. Helps to be direct and not passive-aggressive.

It was much harder to change your schedule around back then, so I ended up flying the better part of 3-4 months per year with him....
Bottom line was that I'd rather deal with my favorite Kernal 12-13 days per month than spend an extra 4 nights in the crash pad. The entertainment value watching him get ticked off over trivial stuff when dealing with his "subordinates" like the FAs and rampers, was pretty high, so it wasn't all bad.
Good times......

I have one on my avoidance bid, but plenty of names are on my own personal list. The one I have is the number one HOU guy and he is well known by all parties. The only reason I keep him on there is because I assume someone is tracking this stuff and I want them to have the data point. I wouldn’t fly with him again, but that is easily accomplished via ELITT and ttga.
Life is too short to fly with miserable folks. I just had two trips in a row with delightful captains who made the whole affair go so well. I am done apologizing to others for the behavior of my flying partner and done being miserable on account of others.

It is a lot easier to avoid the AB folks nowadays than it was 20 years ago, even without putting them on your list.
In my case, there were typically 1-3 lines per month that would work around my commute and we didn't have nearly the flexibility that ELITT offers, even with all of the (SWApA imposed) restrictions, err, "gains" ;-) .
That's one of the reasons that all of those otherwise great trips with the AB kings/queens end up in ELITT, with few takers, nowadays.
