Netjets to Southwest
#11
Last time they called me, I had just returned a rental car and was a little early, and scheduling called. I answered, and they asked if I happened to be close to the airport -- another pilot had gotten sick on the road, and they were seeing if I could take his place on a different, slightly earlier flight, and then deadhead home. I said sure, since I was already there. Since moving my showtime earlier triggers 1.5x pay for the day, I made an extra ~$700 to get home an hour later. Win-win.

I can't believe you gave up over 400 dollars a year in hotel points that you get to collect every year at NJA...

Just to be clear for those that aren't familiar with all the airline terms...on reserve you only have to answer the phone while on duty, but not checked in on a trip. Your duty RAP, or reserve availability period, is 14 hours long each day (shorter on the last day) and is known when you receive your schedule for the month. Totally different from the corporate/charter lifestyle.

Dude,
About once a year since 2015, you have asked about leaving NetJets. The answer is always the same. No one looks back. At some point you need to ****** or get of the pot! Imagine if you would have bolted in 2015. You'd be a captain at Delta!
Sorry for the tough love, but do it already if you can!
Hopefully, your post means you are trying!

I left NJA after 14 years. There is in intial pay hit and it will take a little while to play catch up but for me, the increase in my overall QOL is immeasurable.
After working at SWA for a little over a year I think I have literly increased my life span. I get more rest, I am less stressed, and I will be able to retire on time. My remaining years left working get better and better each month as my seniority grows. At "work" everyone is nice (including the pax). Cockpit culture is very chill and I cant say enough about having much shorter duty days and much longer overnights than I ever ever had at NJA.
My experience at Netjets was the complete opposite. I tried to do a good job with the brief changes, Canada ASAP recoveries, notams, cleaning, customer service and by the time I got home, I was exhausted. That was all while averaging one fatigue call per tour on the 7n7.
Living in or near a SWA base is even more gravy. My only regret was not getting to SWA sooner.
