Please. NO! I have been trying to get AWAY from working at the BRK owned fractional I am at for years, and now they are chasing me. SWA absolutely WILL lose every shred of its unique culture if BRK acquires it. You will see the best airline job (IMO anyway) turn into the same angry UAL and AA culture. Fight this tooth and nail.

There is no better way to improve employee moral than to lawyer up and sue them.
SWA has spent the last 7 years in negotiations with the mechanics? The mechanics drag their feet for a few months and they are taken to court?
Heck, maybe Berkshire Hathaway won't be a step down after all.

Thankfully the SWA mechanics aren't front line employees. It's amazing how management standing in front of that long black robe will wipe the smile of your face.

1) Gate agents who see a line of people and won't even give an "I'll be with you shortly"....
2) When they finally do "open up" at the gate area, the first thing they do is type like mad, without even looking up at you. When they do finish signing in or whatever the 15,000 keystrokes are, they don't even look up at you. They talk AT you, not TO you, while staring at the screen. Anything to avoid eye contact.
Taking the tickets upon boarding....not a word, not a smile. Deadpan. And they won't even scan the darn things, they just stare at you and wait for you to do it. Not phones, I can understand that. But the paper ticket.
3) No smiles from the FAs as you board.
4) If you ask for the can rather than the 2 ounces in a cup of ice...you are the scum of the earth.
These are routine experiences for me. Maybe its just the PHX UAL experience but that's what happens when I fly UAL. I'd say the only 2 airlines that make the travel good are SWA and Delta. I actually prefer SkyWest than mainline UAL. I have no beef with UAL, just sharing my experiences with them vs other airlines.

I don't fly UAL but around 10-15 times per year, but here have been my experiences:

Someone wanted to pump up the stock price. This happens every year and the associated stock price bump comes with it.
Besides, who in their right mind would be buying anyone now at the peak of the market? Buffet looks for buying opportunities when "there's blood in the streets."

Hahaha. Wouldn’t that be my luck. I just quit a Berkshire company to get away from its toxic culture just for it to consume me again.
Buffet is no friend to corporations. He likes buying successful corporations and then sucks all the money out of them. He’s wealthy not because of what he has created but what he takes.
He will destroy SWA’s culture. He will turn management against employees and alienate customers. He will squeeze the life out of SWA until there is nothing left while counting all his cash.
