I was nowhere even close to $200 grand in year 3.

Zap, I presume you commute. I live in domicile. For example, I'm 153 TFP this month, and I will have spent 17 nights in my own bed with 12 days off. I often pick up stuff that's either super early morning that finishes up before noon so I have the rest of the day at home, or say if it's a 2 or 3 day trip, I've been fortunate in that I'd pick up something that starts late in the day so I have the whole day at home and go to work in the evening. The beauty of the system is that there is something for everyone, commuters, guys/gals living in base, lazy folks, workaholics, and everything in between.

If you're a first year guy, the incentive there is that you get second year pay on anything you pick up from the company in open time regardless if it's at premium or straight just as long as you're over your original line value.

What a number of new guys miss nowadays, and I did too when I started, is that reserve blocks that show up every morning in DOT also pay 2nd year pay and can often pay better than if you just picked something up at straight time. For example, you pick up a 2 day reserve block in DOT... you just earned a minimum of 12 TFP at year 2 pay if they don't use you. If they do use you, your minimum is now 13 TFP at 2nd year pay regardless how little you work. If they adjust your schedule the next day so you get home later than your original, congratulations, you're now getting premium pay at second year rate. All this can add up quite nicely.

Nope I live in domicile. I shoot for 110 TFP per month. I might pick up an extra day here and there. That's it though.

And you get to enjoy a very nice QOL with that. That's awesome! As I said, something there for everyone.

BTW Zap, I still owe you beers for all the help and gouge you've been contributing here and being on probation is no longer a valid excuse.

It is what is. Can't control what you can't control.

This may actually boost the chances of success for the 1000 Turbine PIC and 737 type holder, he now in theory should be at the very top of the stack.
I look at it the other way, they've already stepped over that person and slapped them in the face by dropping both of those requirements before contacting him.
