There is a persistent rumor that all WN trips are 5-6 leg days hopping around TX.
The reality is that the vast majority are 2-4 legs per day. Rarely there is a single leg day or 5+ leg day.
It is not unusual to fly a transcon followed by a short turn. I rarely see an overnight fewer than about 12 hours or greater than about 21 hours.
The majority of trips are 3 days. There are a handful of 1,2, and 4 day trips. They are rigged at around 6.5 per day so a min paying 3 day pays 19.5 - however there are plenty that pay 22-24. The days can be tough, but compared to other airlines you get your work for the month done with fewer days away from home.
That frees you up to enjoy either more days off at home, or more days to pick up additional flying if you need a little extra money.
Unlike most other airlines we do very little airport appreciation time. It is rare to spend more than about 1.5 hours on the ground. Most turns are :35-:45. Maybe closer to an hour in the 800.
Just setting the record straight.

What are you talking about? Most trips I fly here are 2-3 legs. You can generally trade trips with the company if you're on a trip that you don't like that has too many legs for your liking. For instance, I was on a trip that had a couple 4 leg days that I swapped with the company for a trip that had a single leg on day one, and two legs on day two and three. Minimum flying time for decent credit Easy peasy. That other trip that wasn't as desirable then went up for premium open time flying or got assigned to reserves.
The flexibility is still quite good here - I'd say the original comments from 2017 are pretty accurate still.
I'm constantly amazed at how toxic the forums are for this company. It's not the same on the line.

Yeah, every now and then you are going to get mixed up in some late night weather induced insanity, but it all pays well or you can just f bomb out of it (or my personal favorite, both). I have pulled back a lot since the contract was passed and even though I hate the act of going to work, once I am there I find it is generally pretty easy going.
I show at 8:30pm tomorrow and fly one 2 hour leg to the overnight. It doesn't get much easier than that.
