Nah, if it were SAPA, they would spew garbage like how our pay is first among equals, and we are industry-leading in every way over all other regionals. SAPA's propaganda campaign during the TA vote was downright emetic. Many still feel a resounding insult to their intelligence directed towards them. SAPA's rulebook is molded on Goebbel's and Baghdad Bob's: tell a lie often enough, make it big, and people will eventually believe it, despite how inane it might be regarded at face value. Of course, that still doesn't excuse Truthanator's horrendous outlook on our profession. If his character on the line is indeed as this portrayal on APC, then I hold no doubt that he is bid-avoided like the plague.

Perhaps if things get bad enough Skywest pilots will unionize. But they have been force feed coolaid for so long that the anti union flavor grew on them. An example is the Ford and Harrison "why Union's are bad" message on the Skywest pilot home page a few years ago. No it didn't say credit Ford and Harrison but that's who Inc. paid for the boilerplate message. In this job market maybe 1% raises will finally mobilize pilots. Union's aren't a panacea but look what you have now.

Anybody know how class sizes are doing on both fleet types? I had a friend who interviewed and was given a class date only to go somewhere else recently. If the cadet pipeline is full, and class numbers stay ok, is there any hope of anything changing? I was based back east and recently was awarded a west coast base and the moral seems to be the same. People mad at pbs, mad at quality of life, working an insane amount, reflows,and embarrassed when comparing our pathetic aggrement to the 9e and Rah contracts. If this is supposed to be a slower month, coupled with the email a few weeks ago saying "with lower block hours people will have more time off...", and then the email begging us crj pilots to work on days off due to critical staffing needs, are we screwed when spring comes and then the busy summer season? Our competition and cancel numbers have been pretty bad lately. Just hoping that somehow something will change for the better. Haven't heard any rumors

Wouldn’t say 18 clx yesterday was high.. that may be high for a smaller airline. But we average 1800-2300 flights a day.. classes are full... only thing to help what your saying is full classes and moderate attrition... our list continues to grow. 4600 pilots as of today.

I've seen the opposite. I've been on both aircraft and a multitude of bases. As a sweeping generalization- West coast ERJ? Life is pretty good. Midwest CRJ? Not so much... Quality of trips, legs per day, soft pay, adequate reserve staffing, ability to drop or trade, etc. is SO different from LAX ERJ to DTW CRJ. Almost like a different airline altogether.

Totally agree. Such different lifestyles between a ERJ guy vs a CRJ guy. Really depends on what your end goal is, and what you want lifestyle wise your first 3 years here.. the ERJ heading east (NYC) should be interesting.. but the West Coast guys have it good. I see were doing SEA-MCI for DL. Another 8hr local...??..

This exactly! I started CRJ Midwest now am ERJ west coast and it is like two different airlines! Someone said it earlier our plethora of west coast bases is a big reason why we keep filling classes. Its like a carrot for new hires, put in your dues out east and maybe someday ill be back home. It took me two years of hell but now am finally happy again. But I think it will start taking longer for people to get back home on the west. with trying to keep our junior bases staffed (barely) and our growing in ATL and the rumor mill about an NYC base. West coast staffing is full. So if a new hire wants west I would encourage you to consider two other regionals.
