If there are any people here looking at this thread to see what to expect at a regional or Skywest, now you know. A bunch of pansies getting their knickers in a twist over stupid stuff and trying to say a 1% raise is more than a 1% raise because they add in other “stuff” that won’t count. And they think it counts. Pity more people here won’t educate themselves. That’s why nobody gets paid a decent salary at a regional. Apathy. ESPECIALLY at Skywest. We have the worlds most apathetic group who don’t want to know anything. Sad.

So you will be paired with someone who has all ready been flying for Skywest? You said in your reply separate bathrooms? So one bedroom with 2 bathrooms or 2bed 2 bath? I appreciate your answers new guy. One more, how long
Could I guy expect to sit
Reserve 175 in Sfo or Boi? I know this is a very dynamic
And ever changing variable. Thanks again

Yep, was only at Compass for a week when we found out
That my wife’s job was going to keep us in Sacramento with a possible transfer to Boise. She is the bread winner in the family and therefore for quality of life reasons I decided that Skywest would be the better option. I haven’t interviewed yet with Skywest, hell, maybe they wouldn’t even hire me with knowing the fact that I left in the first week at Compass.

I have nothing but good things to say about Compass......in the end it came down to commuting vs not commuting. We were fairly certain that we were moving to Phx, then that got squashed. Living in Sac I could drive to work and with a possible relocate in a year to Boise it just made sense. Perhaps I will be kicking myself soon.....who knows

Well he has a point. It must be pretty frustrating working for a company when over half of the group is content with subpar gains when the rest of the industry is making significant gains. Not to mention the slow erosion of quality quality of life issues

While I don't disagree with you. To paint with a broad brush and say "the rest of the industry is making significant gains" is a bit of a stretch. So far 1 carrier has made gains that I would consider significant. Yes, I realize it would be nice if we could actually lead the charge for once. Yes it is frustrating that this concept is foreign to this pilot group.

That’s sucks. I hope it works out for you.
I’m on the 175 based on left coast and have enjoyed my time at OO.
To answer your previous questions. You’ll be paired with a captain unless there are more new hires then captain then 2 new hires get paired together.
Most in my class got a 2 bedroom/bathroom suite but there was a couple guys that shared a 2 bed 1 bath room. They did seem to pair up people with similar ages.
No accurate way to answer your reserve question. It was 6 months for me and I got hired late last year.
Good luck!
