I predict upgrade will increase on 175 as Chicago grows. Chicago is most likely getting delta benefits, senior folks that commute but can’t stand to lose delta benefits will be tempted. Especially if you’re commute is delta base to delta base currently ( slc-msp/dtw)

Quick question guys
Does anyone know if my Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating needs to be "Current" coming over from Australia? Or do I just need to have one?
As they are perpetual, I'm wondering if the SIM check at the end of training covers me for recency? or is there a clause somewhere stating my Australian MECIR must be current at the time of the check to be able to convert it to a US one and make it current?
Would save me a few $$$ if I didn't need to do an IPC (its what we strange folk in the land down under call an Instrument Proficiency Check, is it the same there?) before I come over.
Thanks very much!

It's an IPC here too. Normally you need to be current to get hired at any airline, but not sure if they apply that to foriegn certs.
You would not need to be current to take sim training and a rating checkride in a sim. Upon completion, the ATP and type rating would reset all of your currency.
You'd better ask SKW recruiters though. It would probably be better for you to be instrument current.

Engines go like this: suck, squeeze, bang, blow. That’s all you need to know about the engines. That and 2 minutes from completion of the start sequence to takeoff. Now have a beer.

Are you doing the course where you get 10 hrs in the sim before you go to Indoc in. Denver? Its the one for guys that don’t have an ATP. I’m no expert, but I did stay in a holiday inn express last night (no really!) and if you do that course you should be fine.
Of course a bit of flying before you head out for training won’t hurt. Other than your wallet of course.
