I will be next month. Awarded 99.53 hrs block this month. Same with months before. I’ll gladly enjoy my forced time off. I want people to come to SkyWest so staffing gets better but I also don’t want people to come here cause it’s not all “sunshine and rainbows” like everyone seems to think.

It's rolling 365. I hear they'll make you pay up Vacation time or make you do miscellaneous office work/ stand ups.

They can't make you do office work (unless you're an FA). They might offer to pay you to do office work, safety audits, etc.

They can't make you use vacation.

You wouldn't be legal for standups if you timed out... that's actually still 121 flying.

They don't pay your guarantee. If you worked that much, you shouldn't need it.

I've heard they make you pay for your benefits (that would be BS if true).

The rolling part leads to pbs (not awarded) giving you whatever it wants as trips from a year ago roll off.

I was always able to get >76 (<80) assigned while I was rolling into it so I don’t know if this is true but at the time 76 hours was guaranteed as long as you didn’t help the company out by picking up trips in the proceeding 365.

Try to get at least 1475 TT minimum, but really just get as much as you can just in case. 1465 TT is doable for some.

Also, ensure you have 75 hours instrument IN AN AIRPLANE. My simulated instrument time was healthy but once I subtracted simulator (IE: Frasca 141) it took a good hit. I still had around 85 hours but it was much less than I initially thought.

Hope that actually answers your question. I was in the same boat a few months ago and remembered seeing the question asked repeatedly and the only responses were "figure it out yourself" and "that question gets asked all the time!"....I kept thinking "If someone would actually give a real answer perhaps people will stop asking!"
Thank you! This answers it. I haven’t counted any Sim time as it’s a full motion military sim which I use, but got a feeling it doesn’t count towards 121, so all my hours are aircraft based.

So looks like I’m right ‘on the edge’ now with couple of months left to go.

Thank you again, hopefully your answer helps out other people looking in here, can be a scary place to post Noob questions!

You really think I’m not aware it’s a rolling 365 day period? I’m running into the issue because the holidays last year were several ~100 hr months in a row. Now being “properly staffed” I’ve been blocking at least 95 a month. They absolutely do not make me use my PTO or force me to do standups. That would be illegal and standups are still flying. Check your sources. You spread enough rumors around here.

For those of you who were reserving judgement on your last pay package until the endeavor TA was ratified, it passed 86% yes. I’m looking at you amcd!

I'm just passing along what I hear from people that it has actually happened to. Simmer down. I recently flew with someone that had this exact situation last year and he specifically said you don't just simply get the time off.

I’m looking forward to seeing him have to admit that they make more money than we do.
I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t downplay it somehow. He’s s company man and would take a bullet for Skywest.
